Lecture by Professor Sally Hartley - February 2011

12 February 2011

In this seminar Professor Hartley has discussed a new approach for developing disability and rehabilitative research that was piloted in Uganda. From the onset the project sought to involve major stakeholders-such as disabled people, service providers and academics- in the entire research process. By mentoring these groups throughout the project excellent results were achieved. For the equivalent budget of one average research program, 21 research projects were commissioned involving 58 Ugandan research staff, 18 of whom were disabled.
