Adobe Acrobat available for University staff without cost

27 May 2010

ICT is pleased to announce the release of a new licensing agreement which provides all University staff with access to Adobe Acrobat Professional. To streamline the process of obtaining the Adobe software, ICT has removed the need to contact the ICT Helpdesk to request the software. You can download and install the software straight from the IT Assist website onto your University Owned or Leased computer.

The release of Adobe Acrobat is the first stage of the rollout of the new Enterprise Licensing Agreement (ELA) that the University of Sydney has entered into with Adobe Systems Inc. This agreement, a collaborative achievement between Procurement Services and ICT, is a first for any Australian university and will offer all staff access to a broad collection of Adobe products on any University owned or leased machines,

ICT is working with Adobe Systems Inc. to also make the Adobe CS5 Design Premium Suite available for download from IT Assist, giving staff access to download industry-standard design on demand, all without incurring the costs associated with this high end Adobe product suite. Announcements will be made through the Staff Bulletin and IT Assist when this stage of the software roll out commences.
