SharePoint websites will be upgraded to 2010 platform this weekend

9 November 2011

ICT will be upgrading University SharePoint sites to the Sharepoint 2010 platform between 6pm Friday 11 November and 8am Monday 14 November. This means staff will not have access to any SharePoint sites between these times.

Your SharePoint site content will be available after the upgrade; however you will notice some visual differences to some SharePoint sites due to the updated SharePoint 2010 colour scheme and Site Actions menu bar. The changes are primarily visual and all your previous links and site functionality will be maintained after your site has been upgraded.

The upgrade to the SharePoint 2010 platform is the first stage in improving the way SharePoint is delivered in the University. It will provide better performance and a range of new features (more information about how to use the SharePoint 2010 features will be available in the ICT Training courses commencing in 2012).

Full access to SharePoint websites will be restored by 8am, Monday 14 November. If you experience any issues logging into your SharePoint site after this time, please contact the ICT Helpdesk on 9351 6000. Any changes to the above schedule will be communicated on theICT service status webpage.

We apologise for any inconvenience that the service interruption may cause and thank you for your patience and cooperation. If you have any questions about this upgrade, please contact the SharePoint Administration team.
