Access your work anywhere on campus
9 March 2012
When you log into the computers at the PNR, Carslaw and Wentworth Learning Hubs or Madsen, Law and Cumberland Access Labs you will have access to your very own virtual desktop; a Windows 7 environment that you can personalise. The virtual desktop allows you to change things like language, appearance settings and bookmarks and these settings will be retained each time you log on. You can also access hundreds of software applications, including course-specific software that was previously only available in specialist teaching labs. If you save your files on your SkyDrive, you can access your work anywhere!
Ever needed to access course-specific software but couldn't get to a University computer? Stay tuned as developments are underway so we can provide you with a virtual desktop accessible on your own laptop/tablet! This means you'll be able to access University course specific software over the internet from home or on campus whilst connected to the University wireless.
