International House Idol 2012 Final
10 June 2012
The night opened with a group performance as our three finalists, Cameron, Sophia, and Carol, took the stage and performed 'Somebody to Love' by Queen. It was a fitting song choice since the theme that night was the 80's!
Each finalist performed two songs: one from the 80's and one of their choosing. After each performance, our three judges: Katy, Deputy Director of International House, Bo An, and Jonas, gave their comments. Sophia kicked off the competition, singing the upbeat 'Walking on Sunshine'. Cameron followed with his rendition of 'Dancing in the Dark' by Bruce Springsteen. Carol was the last to perform in this round; she sang 'Out Here on My Own' by Irene Cara.
After snacks and drinks, Round 2 began! Once again, Sophia was the first to sing. She sang 'Brother' by Matt Corby. Next was Cameron who sang 'Wide Open Road' by The Triffids. Finally, Carol took the stage and wow-ed the audience by singing 'Titanium' by David Guetta ft. Sia.
The curtain closed with a performance from the IH choir. The talented bunch sang 'The Letter' and 'Monkey and Turtle' while the votes were being tabulated.
And the winner is...Carol Dowty! Congratulations Carol!
