Casino Night

As it happens to be that this semester's IHMA executive committee consists of three very fond poker players, the three of them took it upon themselves to organise an in-house casino event with the main event being poker.

Residents were encouraged to dress up into dinner suits and dresses in order to get into the spirit of the event. Alongside this, throughout the evening live jazz music provided by a group of residents ensured authentic casino ambience and was great entertainment.

Besides poker, residents also enjoyed playing roulette and blackjack. If someone had to calm their nerves after breathtaking gambles, they were able to relax at the finger food buffet, which was kindly prepared by volunteering residents.

There were a total of 6 tables each with 7-10 players. Each table played until there were only two left, who then moved on to the finalists table a week later. Players on the finalists table start with however many chips they ended the main round with. Pete was able to distinguish himself as an excellent poker player and won the poker prize, claiming a $200 cash prize.

The casino night was great fun and has seemed to spark a poker craze around the House as a very sizable group of IH residents signed up for the University poker event held at Manning Bar.
