International House Harbour Cruise 2012
6 May 2012
International House residents enjoyed a great night atop a boat at the annual IH Harbour Cruise Night. It was an amazing event and, for many, a good break after weeks of mid-semester exams and assignments.
The residents strutted their stuff in Hollywood-themed outfits. Check out pictures at the IHMA Facebook page! (Like the IHMA while you're there - they do a fantastic job.)
Greeting our celebrities of the night was a red carpet laid out on a ramp as they boarded the boat at King St. Wharf. In true Hollywood fashion, they even had a photographer snapping away as they walked the red carpet. The same photographer, Yang, also set up a photo booth where attendees had their photo taken with Sydney's skyline in the background.
For a bargain price of $30 (for residents, at least) attendees enjoyed an open bar and delicious canapés. The canapés were so delicious there was always a mad dash when the waiters appeared with more food. Food wasn't the only attraction. Standing on the open-air top deck of the boat, one could really enjoy the beautiful, clear night, the dazzling city lights, and the famous sights that were the Opera House and Harbour Bridge.
Eventually, everyone ended up on the dance floor. Dancing away the indulgent calories they had eaten that night, perhaps? Either way, it was simply an amazing way to end a fantastic night.
Special thanks to the Social Coordinators of the IHMA committee for organising the event and to Yang and Timothy for taking the photos.
