World Environment Day Dinner and Party
17 June 2012
On the 8th of June, International House residents celebrated World Environment Day. Dressed in their best, residents commenced the evening with drinks and conversation. This was followed with a talk by Professor John Crawford concerning sustainable agriculture.
Then, came the formal dinner! Residents were treated to a delicious meal to celebrate World Environment Day. The meal included some very tasty vegetarian dishes, if I may add, and everything was made better by the company of friends. Unfortunately, that night, we also bid a formal farewell to the residents that would be leaving us next semester.
Still, there was more than cake to look forward to that night. Residents and their guests changed into their costumes for the party! The party themed 'When I Grow Up' saw many interesting ensembles that night. Some chose not to wear costumes at all (perhaps they were dressed as fashionistas?) while an engineer, a pharmacist, a jungle boy, and even a homeless person could be spotted! It was a great way to have fun before StuVac (study vacation) would be on everyone's minds.
If you couldn't make it, check out the pictures at the IHMA Facebook page! And while you're on Facebook, check out the official International House page.
We wish you the best for your exams!
