Corporate Social Responsibility: International Legal Developments and the Global Recession
Please register online
Michael Kerr, Senior Consultant with Montreal-based CSR consulting firm, Natural Advantage, will be giving a guest seminar drawing on themes of a new book he has co-authored, Corporate Social Responsibility-- A Legal Analysis (LexisNexis, 2009). The book is the first comprehensive global legal text on CSR. It examines the legal dimensions of CSR in Canada, the U.S., the U.K., Australia, Europe and Asia, to show that CSR has "arrived" as a legal concept and can no longer be considered purely voluntary.
Michael will be sharing important insights regarding:
- The new role the law in Australia and globally is playing to mandate CSR;
- How key international voluntary initiatives are interacting with the law to promote CSR;
- The important role for CSR as world leaders seek regulatory solutions to the current global recession; and
- The future direction of CSR.
