SMB staff cited in Vice Chancellors Awards

The team of Glenn Condell (Examinations), Gareth Denyer and Dale Hancock were recently cited in the Vice Chancellors Awards for Excellence in Teaching and Learning.

Citations are awarded to academic and/or general staff who have made a significant contribution to the quality of student learning in a specific area of responsibility over a sustained period.

The team have designed an easy way to implement a system that accurately detects when cheating has occurred in multiple choice exams. Crucially, the system is designed to directly disadvantage students that cheat without the need for official investigations.

As a result, the system encourages and enforces a culture of academic honesty.
