Daniel Herscovitch, senior lecturer in piano, is in South Carolina for a masterclass and recital at Claflin University as part of an International Piano Series. Daniel is joining Dr Dorian Leljak, professor of piano at the Novi Sad Academy of Arts in Serbia and an instructor at the Royal College of Music in London, for the series. The Times and Democrat reports that Daniel has taken his talents on tour throughout Europe and Australia and released many albums containing his own compositions and the works of legendary artists such as Mozart. He specializes in solo and chamber music. "Herscovitch is the founding member of the Symercon and Eclectic Collectives and more recently was a co-founder of the Apollo Trio. He has appeared as a concerto soloist with the Sydney Symphony Orchestra, toured for Musica Viva, and performed at the festivals of Sydney, Melbourne and Adelaide in his native country. "In addition, he has performed at several international festivals and was broadcast on major European networks such as the BBC. "Herscovitch studied at the Sydney Conservatorium under pianist Alexander Sverjensky and later continued his studies with Rosl Schmid at the Musikhochschule in Munich, Germany."
