Saluti Armonici Concert at Carriageworks - Saturday 4 June 4.00pm

31 May 2011

For musicians, the line between still being students and becoming professional musicians is often a hazy one.Top performers say they go on studying all their lives and some students start giving paid performances long before they qualify. Two current students at The Con, Anthony Albrecht and Tim Willis, have joined with three students or graduates of the University of Melbourne and the Australian National University to set up a tour for their Early Music quintet, Saluti Armonici.

After much appreciated concerts in Melbourne and Canberra, they will perform at Carriageworks in Eveleigh at 4.00pm on Saturday 4 June 2011.On period instruments and with special guest Andrew Byrne (Lute), Saluti Armonici will explore the exuberant harmonic pathways left behind by the Italians of the early seventeenth century, with their exaggerated passions and effects and ever-changing moods.
