About the Academy

STEM Students at work

The STEM Teacher Enrichment Academy was established in 2014 as a result of an anonymous philanthropic donation. It brings together expertise from the University’s faculties of Education and Social Work, Science, and Engineering and Information Technologies to help build the nations capacity in science, technology, engineering and mathematics.

Our vision

Our vision is to become a national leader of teacher enrichment in STEM, using best-practice pedagogy and learning technologies to develop a robust and inspiring professional development program.

The STEM Teacher Enrichment Academy will impart knowledge, build confidence and skills, and inspire teachers across Australia in the delivery of mathematics, technology and science education. The academy’s programs will combine discipline-specific interactive learning experiences with inquiry-based pedagogies. Participating teachers will gain real skills and insight into teaching science, digital technology and mathematics in the classroom, with adaptive approaches to meet the needs of students.
