Supervisors: Rebecca Johinke, Briohny Doyle
Thesis abstract:
This project will comprise a creative element in the form of a memoir, and a research element by means of an exegesis analysing the implementation of multicultural policy in Australia today. The exegesis will direct particular focus on acculturation of post WW2 South Africans and what the dominant trend within Australia has been with reference to the concepts of assimilation or integration as inclusion. Reference will also be made to various structures of inclusion within Australian society, and whether they function effectively for the immigrant.
