Thesis work

Thesis title: Learning and building in health: evidence-based design and the enhancement of medical student learning.

Thesis abstract:

My work will explore how best to verify how to approach planning, construction and renewal of learning spaces in clinical settings such as hospitals. It will take a learner-centred viewpoint, that of health professional students, and develop methods to inform planning for improved learning through evidence-based design. As workplace learning plays a major role in health professional student learning, spaces will include not just lecture, tutorial or class rooms and libraries but the spaces where work integrated learning may occur. The increasing use of technology for work and technology-enhanced learning (TEL) will also be considered.
