Brain and Mind Sciences

Admission requirements

In general, admission to the Graduate Certificate and Graduate Diploma in Brain and Mind sciences requires an undergraduate degree in a relevant discipline plus satisfactory performance at an interview.

Admission to the Master of Brain and Mind Sciences requires an undergraduate honours degree in a relevant discipline plus satisfactory performance at an interview.

Admission to the Master of Brain and Mind Sciences in Psychiatry requires a medical degree plus satisfactory performance at an interview.

Course structure

The Graduate Certificate in Brain and Mind Sciences requires the successful completion of 24 credit points of units of study including:

  • 12 credit points of core units of study, and
  • 12 credit points of elective units of study

The Graduate Diploma in Brain and Mind Sciences requires the successful completion of 36 credit points of units of study including:

  • 12 credit points of core units of study, and
  • 24 credit points of elective units of study

The Master of Brain and Mind Sciences requires the successful completion of 48 credit points of units of study including:

  • 18 credit points of core units of study; and
  • 30 credit points of elective units of study, or
    18 credit points of elective units of study and 12 research
    units of study
