Professor Eric Csapo
Department of Classics and Ancient History
Eric Csapo has published widely on all aspects of ancient theatre: festivals, theatre administration and finance, music, staging, actors and acting, iconography, epigraphy, theatre buildings and dramatic literature. Other interests range from cockfighting and kottabos to myth and philosophy.

Eric Csapo usually teaches Greek and Roman Myth and various units in Greek language and literature. He is available to supervise thesis on a broad range of topics in ancient mythology, literature and social history.
In conjunction with his project on The Theatrical Revolution: The Expansion of Theatre Outside Athens (see Selected Grants), Csapo is collaborating with Peter Wilson on a multi-volume social and economic history of the Classical theatre.
