Change your course

Change streams

If you change streams it is not guaranteed that you will receive credit for your previous study. If you intend to change streams you should try to do this as early as possible to ensure you are able to fulfil the requirements of your new stream. We can’t make changes to your course mid-semester, so you should only apply after the release of results but before the start of the next semester.

You'll need to follow the process outlined for your faculty or school. Choosing the correct way to apply will avoid delays.

If you are studying a postgraduate course in Architecture, design and planning, you may be able to change stream/specialisation. It is important to understand the options available to you and we recommend you speak with a school adviser first about options within your current degree.

If you transfer streams it isn't guaranteed that all your completed units of study will be counted towards the new stream. This could delay the completion date of your degree. You will need to pay any costs associated with taking additional units of study to meet the requirements of your new stream.

Make sure you check the Handbook so you understand the requirements of your new stream.
