Thesis abstract:
«p»Highly Automated Vehicles (HAVs) are set to transform safety, efficiency, and travel experiences, but effective human-vehicle takeover systems remain critical. According to SAE J3016 (2021), HAVs can minimize risk in a defined Operational Design Domain (ODD), but beyond this, users must be ready to take control from Non-Driving-Related Tasks (NDRTs). This study reviews 53 articles on takeover systems in Highly Autonomous Driving (HAD), highlighting challenges like inconsistent definitions and limited exploration of takeover processes. A VR-based simulator will be developed to enhance research in multimodal takeover systems, focusing on improving performance, user experience, and accessibility.«/p»
