The Centre continues to enhance its suite of user-friendly structural computer programs. The following programs are currently available:

PLANE RIGID FRAME STRUCTURAL ANALYSIS (PRFSA)

General Specifications

PRFSA is a user-friendly computer program for predicting the in-plane behaviour of plane rigid frames. The input data for the program includes the geometry of the frame, the section and material properties of the frame elements, and the loading.

COLDSTEEL/4600

General Specifications

Coinciding with the publication of the third edition of Professor Gregory Hancock's book Design of Cold-Formed Steel Structures, his colleague Dr Murray Clarke has released the computer software ColdSteel/4600 which brings cold-formed steel design to AS/NZS 4600:2005 within the practical reach of all structural engineers. The software has been developed within the Centre for Advanced Structural Engineering over a number of years and has been rigorously tested against the design examples in Professor Hancock's book and a range of other problems.

ColdSteel/4600 is intended to be used as a cold-formed steel design "calculator" that facilitates the semi-automated design of cold-formed steel structural members by freeing the engineer from the complex detail of effective section, distortional buckling stress and other detailed design computations.

There is no other software on the market which is comparable to ColdSteel/4600. If you are in the business of cold-formed steel design, ColdSteel/4600 will quickly become an indispensable design tool.

PURLIN4600

General Specifications

PURLIN4600 is a computer program for generating purlin capacity tables for cold-formed lipped C-sections subjected to uniformly distributed load. The sections can be designed with or without roof sheeting attached. Tables for lipped Z-sections with roof sheeting can also be generated by modelling the section as an equivalent channel section.

PURLIN

General Specifications

PURLIN is a computer program for the analysis and design of lipped and unlipped channel, zed and hat section purlins. The sections can be designed with or without roof sheeting attached. Zed sections with roof sheeting can also be designed by modelling the section as an equivalent channel section. Program PURLIN also allows the design of back to back and boxed channels. The program can also design any symmetric or monosymmetric section by the direct strength method.
