MBI, CIDM-PH and NSW Pathology initiative receives $1M in budget for Pathogen Genomics Partnership Program


The NSW Minister for Health and Minister for Medical Research Jillian Skinner announced this week the key medical research initiatives in the 2014-15 NSW Budget. They include $1 million for the Pathogen Genomics Partnerships Program, a joint initiative of the Marie Bashir Institute for Infectious Diseases and Microbiology, University of Sydney, NSW Pathology and the Centre for Infectious Diseases and Microbiology - Public Health Research and Development Group, Western Sydney Local Health District, to facilitate research into sequencing dangerous bugs, leading to patients being treated faster in the event of an outbreak of disease among the population..
