The Wingara Mura Leadership Program attracts, develops and retains talent by offering career support pathways and meaningful employment for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people.
Offering postgraduate academic employment for a five year term, the Wingara Mura Leadership Program (Academic staff stream) is designed to employ, support and develop Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander early career academics.
The program offers employment positions for outstanding Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander academics, enabling their significant contribution to teaching, research and service across the University’s faculties and centres.
In addition to academic duties, appointees will have an academic supervisor and a senior faculty mentor to support their development, as part of a holistic approach to career development.
Entry is via PhD or PhD candidature only. You are eligible to apply if you are currently enrolled in a PhD, eligible to commence, or recently completed one.
The Wingara Mura Leadership Program (Professional staff stream) offers employment opportunities in the University’s professional services areas to outstanding Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people with undergraduate degrees who are interested in commencing a professional services career at the University.
To be considered for the professional stream, you will be keen to undertake a relevant master’s degree, or equivalent professional qualification, on a part-time basis, that is related to your employment.
All appointees will have the opportunity to participate in career development and be allocated a workplace mentor.
