Thiranjaya Kandanaarachchi did his bachelor’s degree in Transport and Logistics Management at the University of Moratuwa. He is also a CIMA-qualified member. After graduation, he worked in the industry and then joined back to the University of Moratuwa as a Research Assistant where he was involved in projects related to planning and designing bus priority lanes and bus fare automation in Sri Lanka. He pursued his PhD at the Institute of Transport and Logistics Studies (ITLS) in University of Sydney titled “How can we build trust and collaboration among the stakeholders in MaaS ecosystems?”. He also served as a research assistant at ITLS, participating in projects related to public transport and MaaS.
His research interests include Mobility as a Service, emerging transport, public transport policy and planning, and Grounded Theory. He is particularly interested in understanding the stakeholder permutations in the transport landscape and identifying the necessary policy interventions to enable emerging transport solutions. Mixed-method research is an effective approach to providing meaningful outcomes in this area.
