Thesis abstract:

«p»The New South Wales (NSW) Government is seeking to improve housing affordability by increasing housing supply in areas with ready access to public transport and services. A number of transit-oriented development (TOD) precincts have been identified across Sydney that will accommodate additional housing. Good practice parking policy has a major role to play in creating functional, sustainable and affordable TOD precincts, but there has been little dialogue to date on what is good practice. This thesis will examine parking policy and management nationally and internationally with a view to defining good practice and how it could be applied to five TOD precincts in Sydney’s Inner West: Marrickville, Dulwich Hill, Ashfield, Croydon & Bays West. This will provide a case study that could be used for planning other TOD precincts across Sydney.«/p»
