Business School International Scholarship

Up to 100 scholarships ranging from $5,000 to $10,000 will be awarded each year to commencing Business School international undergraduate and postgraduate coursework students.

Apply for the Business School International Scholarship here.

To be eligible for the scholarships, applicants must be:

  • an international undergraduate or postgraduate coursework unconditional offer holder, intending to commence their coursework program in the upcoming semester

The scholarships do not apply to:

  • Australian and New Zealand citizens or Australian permanent residents
  • students applying to the MBA, MBA (Leadership and Enterprise), Executive MBA, Master of Management (CEMS), Master of Philosophy or Doctor of Philosophy

Business School International Scholarships are awarded across up to three rounds per semester. If you are an unconditional offer holder seeking to be considered for a Business School International Scholarship, we encourage you to submit an application early.

Unconditional offer holders of exceptional academic merit will automatically be considered for a Business School International Scholarship outside of these application-based offer rounds.

Check the Business School International Scholarship webpage for application dates.

Only prospective students with an unconditional offer for their intended program of study for the upcoming semester will be considered for the Business School International Scholarship.

The standard route for consideration for a Business School International Scholarship involves submitting an application, including a statement of motivation. Scholarships for Business School International Scholarship applicants will be awarded based on academic merit and quality of statement of motivation.

Prospective students of exceptional academic merit will automatically be considered for a Business School International Scholarship once they receive an unconditional offer for their intended degree and will be advised as soon as practicable after their unconditional offer is issued.  Prospective students receiving an automatic scholarship offer do not need to submit an application.

If unsure of your level of academic merit, you are advised to submit an application.

The value of the scholarship awarded will be credited to the recipient's tuition fee account.

Learn more and apply at the Business School International Scholarship webpage.

When will I find out if I have been successful in receiving a Business School International Scholarship?

Under the application route, offers will be made 2-3 weeks after the close of the relevant round.

For those receiving automatic offers, scholarship offer will be made within five working days of receiving an unconditional offer of admission.

If I am successful, when do I receive the funds?

The Business School International Scholarship will be paid into your fee account soon after the census date, and will reduce the amount payable on the next semester's fees by the value of the scholarship.

What if I don't have an Australian bank account?

You do not need to have an Australian bank account as the scholarship is paid into your fee account.

What happens if I apply for a Business School International Scholarship but do not have an unconditional offer yet?

Candidates must be an unconditional offer holder to be considered for automatic offer or be an unconditional offer holder by the relevant deadline for the each applicant round.

What happens if I do not accept the scholarship by the acceptance deadline?

Offers not accepted by the nominated deadline will lapse. If exceptional circumstances will prevent you accepting the offer by the deadline, you should request an extension outlining your circumstances and the extra time required.

How do I ensure that I remain eligible after receiving a Business School International Scholarship offer?

Applicants must complete the Acceptance of their Unconditional Offer by the relevant deadline associated with their scholarship offer round, and remain enrolled after census date.

How are Business School International Scholarship offer recipients selected?

The Business School International Scholarship is awarded based on a competitive process that takes into consideration academic merit (as assessed from a student’s application for program admission) for automatic consideration, and academic merit and the applicant’s statement of motivation for the applicant route.

Can I defer or suspend my studies and still receive a Business School International Scholarship?

No, the Business School International Scholarship is offered for the semester for which your unconditional offer has been made and cannot be deferred. If you defer your offer you will forego your Business School International Scholarship and will need to re-apply if you wish to be considered again.

Can I hold the Business School International Scholarship concurrently with other scholarships and awards?

While recipients can only hold the Business School International Scholarship once, this scholarship can be held concurrently with other University of Sydney scholarships, such as the Vice Chancellor’s International Scholarship, and with the University’s Sydney International Student Award. It can also be held concurrently with scholarships and awards offered by external parties. Special arrangements may be made for students who hold a full fee coverage scholarship offered by an external party.
