Schools Engagement and Outreach
Supporting a lifelong love of music
We work with schools across NSW to nurture children’s interest in music and enhance classroom learning. Our outreach includes tours of our ensembles, HSC seminars and workshops.
We also open up our doors for schools to visit and experience our vibrant city campus. We run free tours of our historic buildings and modern facilities for high school groups. School groups can also enjoy a lunchtime concert or experience one of our engaging music workshops.
Tours of the Sydney Conservatorium of Music are available for school groups by appointment during Semester. Led by our current student ambassadors, this 1-hour tour will guide you through our state of art facilities, while offering an opportunity to ask questions about your study options with the SCM. We run our workshops by request depending on the availability of our teachers and spaces, so please include your preferred subject in the booking form. Please let us know via the booking form if you are interested in a tour and workshop package. We also ask that you give us four weeks’ notice. Book a workshop.
Our popular lunchtime concerts span a range of genres and performance styles. Many of these concerts align with school music outcomes and are a great way for students to engage with live performance, both in person and online.
