Leaving a gift in your will to the Sydney Conservatorium of Music is a meaningful way to make an enduring contribution to future generations of musicians, composers, educators, and scholars to pursue musical excellence.

There are a range of ways you can make a legacy gift to the Con. You can:

leave an unrestricted gift or direct it to a specific purpose at the Con
indicate a specific amount, a percentage of your estate, or a portion of the balance remaining in your estate. Some of our legacy supporters leave just 1% of their estate.

Alan Hyland and John Luscombe Endowment

Alan Hyland has channeled his lifelong love of theatre into an investment in the next generation of musical theatre students at the University of Sydney. By supporting the arts at a foundational level, this gift will help to create a pipeline of talented, well-trained performers who will one day grace stages around the world.

Henderson Travellers

This scholarship was established through the Estate of the late George Wallace Henderson and Margaret Trevor Henderson. This generous program supports international travel for our students as a means of developing artistic skills, cultural competence, depth of musical expertise, and experiences that will enrich students’ ongoing Conservatorium studies.

Molly Brown Scholarship

The Molly Brown Scholarship honours the remarkable and compassionate life of the late Molly Brown. A single mother of two children, Kristine and Bryan, and lover of music and the performing arts, Molly overcame socio-economic hardships through tireless dedication to ensuring a better future for her family. Her generosity of spirit lives on with her scholarship.

Equity in Jazz

Thanks to the Anthony and Sharon Lee Foundation, the Sydney Conservatorium of Music Equity in Jazz program commenced in 2022. The program offers scholarships and mentoring to support creative postgraduate research by women and gender-diverse musicians in jazz. From 2024, the program will support undergraduate students and pre-tertiary pathways with schools.

Westheimer String Quartet Fellowship

This prestigious fellowship was made possible by a generous donation from University of Sydney alumnus Professor Gerald Westheimer AM in 2014. Professor Westheimer is a scientist who specialises in the eye and vision who is also a passionate violinist. Through this gift, string quartets are offered private coaching, mentorship and developmental opportunities at the Conservatorium

Ernest Heine Family Foundation Undergraduate Scholarship

Established in 2023, this generous scholarship allows students from regional or rural areas to make the transition to university and thrive throughout their studies. Students receive a full-ride scholarship inclusive accommodation and living costs to study any musical degree at the Sydney Conservatorium of Music.
