The University of Sydney has welcomed 26 outstanding students from across the world under a new scholarship program.
The Sydney International Undergraduate Academic Excellence Scholarship was launched in 2024 to help high-achieving students from diverse global backgrounds study in Sydney.
It is the University’s most generous international undergraduate scholarship, covering full tuition fees for recipients.
“This scholarship opens up a life-changing opportunity for future leaders,” said Kirsten Andrews, the University’s Vice-President (External Engagement). “It will not only benefit the recipients but enrich our campus and society by bringing the best and brightest from around the world to learn with us and share their diverse perspectives.”
The scholarship is awarded annually in semesters one and two to students across a range of degrees. Recipients for semester one this year come from countries including Rwanda, South Korea, Bangladesh, Vietnam and more.
Only students who score top marks in their relevant home country curriculum are eligible to apply.
The scholarship, together with the Sydney International Equity Scholarship for postgraduate students from low-socioeconomic and/or marginalised backgrounds, supports the University’s commitment to creating pathways to education for talented students from diverse backgrounds.
