Minor

A minor in Physical Activity and Health will allow you to develop knowledge and understanding of human structure and function to allow safe and effective implementation of exercise and physical activity.

Integrating knowledge from the basic, applied and social sciences you will implement exercise and physical activity with an evidence-based practice approach. The Physical Activity and Health minor will allow you to engage others from different backgrounds and at different life stages in physical activity projects and exercise programs using a variety of tools, media and strategies appropriate to that audience.

About this minor

To meet the requirements of a minor in Physical Activity and Health, you must complete 36 credit points of study, as follows:

(i) two 1000-level core units

  • Body Systems: Structure and Function
  • Fundamentals of Exercise Physiology

(ii) two 2000-level core units

  • Physical Activity and Society
  • Exercise Training: Physiology and Biochemistry

(iii) two 3000-level core units

  • Motor Control and Learning
  • Nutrition for Exercise and Health
