The Performance and Ensemble minor allows students to pursue projects in which their music practice can be integrated with the study of other Table A or Table S majors. Students must audition for a placement in one of the ensembles or a performance unit of study. Students should have a basic understanding and ability to be able to read music, possess fundamentals of the instrument, or have some performance experience.
The minor can offer a pathway to a vast array of rewarding careers such as composing, arranging, and performing music for theatre, concert, film, and media, writing about music as a journalist, commentator, critic, or media professional, or arts administration, including curating, marketing, festival, and venue management.
