The Performance Science minor introduces the study of the psychology to learning and instruction, exploring the way music is created, produced, and perceived. Students undertake research studies and examine the ways in which we listen to music performers, how we assess music performance, and how we describe the sounds we hear. Students will participate in a performance or an ensemble to complement their performance research studies.
The minor can offer a pathway to a vast array of rewarding careers such as writing about music as a journalist, commentator, critic, or media professional, or arts administration, including curating, marketing, festival, and venue management.
