How is music created, produced and perceived? What can musicians learn from recent research in psychology, cognition and health and wellbeing?

Performance Science will explore recent interdisciplinary research as a way to investigate music. It will discover how musicians interact with the world around them and examine the intersection between art and science.    

Graduate opportunities

Graduates of the Performance Science minor can apply their interdisciplinary knowledge to challenge current thinking about music, its creation, performance and reception. Graduates are prepared for a diverse range of career opportunities as critical thinkers about the intersection between art and science.
