Psychological Science

Minor

There are several ways you can study Psychology at the University of Sydney.

Download the Psychology Study information guide for details of the options available to you.

If you are interested in studying psychology but do not wish to pursue professional accreditation, you can complete a Psychological Science minor or major.  This minor will introduce you to the scientific study of human behaviour, psychology, and mental processes which have applications in many careers.

About this minor

Psychological sciences concern the scientific study of human behaviour, psychology and mental processes.

You will learn about how we behave as individuals as well as in groups; the way we act as well as the way we think; and our interactions with the physical world as well as our interactions with others.

Please note that the Psychological Science minor is not a pathway to professional accreditation as a psychologist. If you wish to undertake professional training at postgraduate level to become a registered psychologist, you will need to complete the full Psychology program.

Career pathways

Career options in which study in psychology is useful include work in community and mental health services, universities, research facilities, market research, human resources and policy.

The course information on this website applies only to future students. Current students should refer to faculty handbooks for current or past course information.

To help you understand common terms that we use at the University, we offer an online glossary.
