Minor

The Visual Arts minor taught at Sydney College of the Arts (SCA) will provide you with creative, conceptual and technical skills that can be applied across a wide range of specialisations.

Within the minor you will be given a grounding in the skills and history of Visual Arts. Through experimentation and research, you will learn how to contextualise and critically develop your concepts under the guidance of highly respected and knowledgeable artists and technicians. Iterative projects will build your proficiency and expertise as an artist. The range of units offered enable you to elect to focus on a particular area of studio practice, or develop an innovative combination of creative experiences. You will also be encouraged to work across disciplinary boundaries, and to make links within a broader research context, in order to realise your ideas.

SCA provides you with generous access to well-equipped workshop and studio facilities in traditional and new media.

For more information on the program structure and content including unit of study information, please refer to the Interdisciplinary Studies Handbook.
