The DanCER-Coding Tool helps users determine the physical demands of a dance class that correspond with standard exercise prescription parameters. Dance teachers and allied health professionals are the intended audience, as they can determine if the dance class is a safe and effective alternative modality of physical activity for their patient populations.
Users are able to drag and drop a video file into the tool. The categories of movement descriptors are easily selected to code each movement as a new event. The list of time stamped events for each movement coded and the result of the algorithm calculating the total physical demands of the video can be downloaded for personal use.
