We're educating practitioners to understand the effective management of athlete performance and chronic diseases through exercise and physical activity.
Exercise and sport science focuses on the integration of exercise and physical activity into healthcare, sports performance, disease prevention and rehabilitation.
Our students explore metabolism and physiology, human motor learning and control, principles of exercise programming, nutrition and musculoskeletal principles of exercise.
We integrate clinical practice, practical learning and case studies to provide our students with the advanced skills and experience essential for professional practice.
Using principles such as biomechanics, musculoskeletal rehabilitation and gait analysis, our graduates work as exercise scientists or exercise physiologists in a variety of settings, including:
The Bachelor of Applied Science (Exercise and Sport Science) will enable you to help people recover from injury, promote healthy ageing and maximise the performance of elite athletes. Graduates are eligible for membership of Exercise and Sport Science Australia (ESSA) and professional accreditation as an exercise scientist.
The Master of Exercise Physiology will enable you to help people manage chronic diseases through designing sustainable exercise programs. Graduates are eligible for professional accreditation as an exercise physiologist with Exercise and Sports Science Australia (ESSA).
