Design your own ancient Egyptian jewellery - Chau Chak Wing Museum

Design your own ancient Egyptian jewellery

A guided kids school holiday workshop creating jewellery inspired by ancient Egyptian objects in the museum.
Tuesday 4 July, 1-3pm: a workshop for kids to create their own amulet and necklace design and learn more about Egyptian art and jewellery.

Imagine you are an ancient Egyptian person who is preparing for their journey to the afterlife. Inspired by the Chau Chak Wing Museum’s collection of Egyptian jewellery, design and create an amuletic necklace which will offer protection on your journey.

Select beads and a pendant based on their symbolic and magical properties. What powers do you want for your journey? Bravery, protection, rebirth, intelligence?

Your necklace is not just for decoration. It is a vital tool for making it safely to the afterlife.

Booking essential.

Cost $10 per child (parents, carers and guardians free).

Workshop designed for 8-15 year olds.
