DryEyeClub: Seeing Outcomes

A community event for all people
This event is free and provides the opportunity for patients and the community to learn about the latest developments in treating dry eye disease and improving patient outcomes.

At the DryEyeClub, participants interact with eye doctors, optometrists and researchers who specialise in the condition, as well as patients with dry eye disease.

Online Webinar

The virtual webinar held on 18th July 2023, marked Dry Eye Disease Awareness month and was proudly hosted by the Save Sight Dry Eye Registry at the Save Sight Institute, The University of Sydney, Australia. 

The DryEyeClub provided an opportunity for patients with dry eye and the community to learn about the latest developments in tracking outcomes for and treating dry eye disease. This online webinar covered topics to educate attendees on:

  • Ground-breaking research highlights from the Save Sight Dry Eye Registry.
  • Recent updates in dry eye - what patients needs to know, treatment options and latest research.
  • Patient reported outcomes in dry eye.
  • Benefits of the dry eye registry from the patient perspective.
  • Panel discussion and Q&A 

The speakers included:

Professor Stephanie Watson OAM, Scientia Professor Fiona Stapleton AO, Dr Himal Kandel, Dr Ngozi Chidi-Egboka and Ms Narina Janian. 

Dr Maria Cabrera Aguas, Post-doctoral researcher at the Save Sight Institute chaired the event.

  • The Save Sight Dry Eye Registry.
  • Dry eye disease treatments and therapies in everyday practice
  • Usefulness of patient-reported outcomes in dry eye
  • Current challenges in the diagnosis and phenotyping of dry eye
  • Support for the registry

The speakers included:

Professor Stephanie Watson OAM, Dr Ngozi Chidi-Egboka, Professor Laura Downie, Dr Himal Kandel and Ms Rachel Love. The event was moderated by Dr Maria Cabrera Aguas, Research Associate at the Save Sight Institute.
