One Tree Island

Located within the heart of the Capricorn Group of the Great Barrier Reef, the Island offers researchers a unique, distraction-free environment to tackle the most pressing challenges facing coral reefs and the wider marine ecosystem.

The University of Sydney has managed this pristine island since 1974, facilitating over 50 years of groundbreaking research and teaching.
