The Bamboo Bridge

Information on the film showing and panel on documentaries and research practice.

The Bamboo Bridge is a 60-minute documentary film directed by Juan Francisco Salazar, produced by Katherine Gibson and Pat Fiske.

It follows the last building of a 1.5 kilometre bridge across the Mekong River in Cambodia.

The film is a meditation on ephemeral infrastructure, on human-non-human interactions, on community economy relationships and resilience.

It presents a way of living that is under threat as the Belt and Road agenda reshapes all corners of Indo-China and asks what can we learn from a bamboo bridge?

To watch the film before the conference session on Friday 9 July at 2.25-3.45pm we have made it available to conference registrants from Monday 5 July at:
