Postdoctoral Research Associate
Dr Ali Eshraghi

Ali Eshraghi is currently a postdoctoral research associate in project leadership at the School of Project Management (University of Sydney). Ali obtained his doctoral degree from the University of Edinburgh (UK) in 2017 where he utilised a sociological lens to explore the development and use of IT innovations in a voluntary organisation. Ali is a socio-technical researcher and educator. He also teaches various courses at the intersection of business, management and digital innovation.

He has previously completed his ARC-funded postdoctoral research at the Business School on how end-users collectively experiment with novel and malleable workplace technologies. Prior to joining the University of Sydney in 2018, he held a research position at Sharif University of Technology, looking at the role of informalities in reshaping complex innovation projects.

Ali’s research over the past few years has been revolving around the various aspects of design, implementation, and use of digital technologies at both organisational and societal levels. In particular, Ali has been looking at the intersection of social actors and technological objects and how innovative ideas emerge and are negotiated in this space. In his recent studies, Ali has increasingly employed qualitative methods, combined with a multidisciplinary approach to study the dynamics of socio-technical interactions.
