Dr Anish Purkayastha

Dr. Anish Purkayastha is Senior Lecturer in Discipline of International Business, at the University of Sydney Business School.

Anish has completed Ph.D. in Strategic Management from Indian Institute of Management Ahmedabad, India.

He comes with fifteen years of experience in the Information Technology (IT) industry before joining his doctoral studies. Starting his career in the late 90’s during the initial phase of Indian IT industry, Anish has progressed through multiple roles including engagement management of CIO and SVPs of United States and Canada based financial service organizations, meeting steep sales targets in complex business environment, and building software product roadmaps.

Prior to joining the University of Sydney Business School, Anish was Assistant Professor in the area of Strategic Management at Indian Institute of Management Rohtak, India. He was also a visiting faculty at Indian Institute of Management Nagpur, India and Symbiosis Institute of Business Management, Bengaluru, India.

Anish’s research interests are Global Strategy, Dynamic Capability, Behavioral Strategy, Emerging Markets, and Business Group Affiliation. His teaching areas are International Business, Strategic Management, and Strategy Consulting.
