Dr Jeffrey Lim

Jeffrey teaches at both the undergraduate and postgraduate levels in the Business School. He values student well-being and experience in learning, and strives to enhance relevance in his courses through industry engagements. He also strongly believes that a successful learning journey involves taking place in a caring, collective, constructive and collaborative environment where everyone can learn with each other on the same platform regardless of their background.

Jeffrey has contributed to a number of case studies, instructor's resources and reviews for several text publishers in the areas of Marketing Research, Marketing and Services Marketing. He is a Full Member of the Australian Market and Social Research Society (AMSRS), a Fellow of the Australian Marketing Institute (AMI) and is currently the Discipline liaison for the Sydney Marketing Society (SMS).

Jeffrey's research focuses on judgment and decision making. His PhD research examines how the presentation of options under uncertainty, framed through their context and content, actually shaped people's decision strategies leading to their judgments. His thesis also delineates the circumstances in which decision support systems contribute towards forecasting accuracy and decision quality.

Predominantly using quantitative methodologies in his research, he is also interested in understanding the psychology behind people's decision making and how decision outcomes are subjected to and shaped by multiple internal and external factors. He has presented his works internationally in conferences organised by the Decision Sciences Institute and International Institute of Forecasters.
