She is consistently commended by her peers for her curriculum development expertise. Similarly, her students commend her on her ability to develop their critical thinking abilities, evidence-based application competencies and reflective learning. Her excellence in teaching and educational innovations are evidenced by the exceptional track record of securing competitive teaching innovation grants (totalling $30,957) and the number of teaching excellence awards and award nominations. For instance, Ju Li was awarded the 2022 Wayne Lonergan Outstanding (Runner-up), the inaugural 2021 SRES Innovation (Highly Commended) Award, 2021 Unit of Study (USS) Award, and 2022 Vice-Chancellor’s Award Nomination for Outstanding Teaching. She is a Fellow with the Higher Education Academy/AdvanceHE which is an international recognition of a commitment to professionalism in teaching and learning in education.
Ju Li’s research interests focus on understanding the dynamics of various team processes. She has a particular interest in examining how team processes such as conflict and leadership builds trust at the workplace. Using the multilevel approach, she has examined these issues both in the corporate and healthcare settings. For example, she has examined how leaders and teams build trust in the face of conflict, and how conflict affects trust in teams. Ju Li is also interested in the emergent and cross-level processes of how individual level phenomenon drives team or organisational phenomena. More recently, Ju Li has begun to carry out research in the area of leadership, with a specific focus on shared leadership and emergence leadership. She is also an active researcher in a multi-disciplinary team that examines healthcare access for people with communication disabilities.
Given her passion in teaching, Ju Li also carries out research on how students can learn to engage with feedback to enhance their learning experience by using self-assessment, peer-evaluation and reflection practice.
