Professor Emeritus Reg Graycar

Emeritus Professor Reg Graycar is a practising barrister and was a Professor of Law at Sydney Law School (1997–2012) and Commissioner of the NSW Law Reform Commission (1998–2002). Prior to joining Sydney Law School, she was Professor of Law at UNSW Law School. Reg’s broad research interests include public/administrative law, judicial decision-making and “The Hidden Gender of Law” (also the title of her book co-authored with Professor Jenny Morgan).

Reg is a member of the International Advisory Board for SSRN’s Women, Gender and the Law eJournal. She has been an Editorial Board member of law journals including Adelaide Law Review; Alternative Law Journal; Australian Feminist Law Journal; Griffith Law Review; Media and Arts Law Review. Reg’s research work was extensively supported by Australian Research Council grants. She has worked with the Australian Institute of Judicial Administration and courts, both in Australia and overseas, on their judicial education programs. Since commencing practice at the NSW Bar Reg has been a member of the Human Rights and Professional Conduct Committees of the NSW Bar Association. She has also served as a Board member for a number of organisations, including Australia’s National Research Organisation for Women’s Safety (ANROWS).
