Matilde has lived and was educated in Aarhus (Denmark), Sydney and Melbourne and is currently living on the lands of the Gadigal people of the Eora Nation. She joined the Sydney School of Public Health (SSPH) in 2019 as a Research Assistant after achieving her Master of International Public Health.
