Born near Pittsburgh Pennsylvania, I obtained a Bachelor of Science degree with Honours in Biology and Psychology from Westminster College. From 1981-87 I was one of Prof Milner’s PhD students at McGill University/Montreal Neurological Institute. I studied impulsivity and risk taking with patients who had undergone frontal or temporal lobectomy.
