Who's eligible

You must:

  • be an international student at the time of application
  • have an unconditional offer of admission to study full-time in an undergraduate Science degree 
  • be transferring from a science related diploma from an international institution with an agreed articulation pathway arrangement with the University of Sydney
  • not exceed 48 cp from previous study.

Background

Established in 2024, this Scholarship has been generously donated by the Estate of Annie Farrand in memory of her and her mother Annie Elizabeth Farrand. The scholarship will be awarded to exceptional international students transferring from a Science related diploma from Singapore Polytechnic to the Bachelor of Agricultural Science degree at the University of Sydney.

1. Background

a. Established in 2024, this Scholarship has been generously donated by the Estate of Annie Farrand in memory of her and her mother Annie Elizabeth Farrand. The scholarship will be awarded to exceptional international students transferring from an articulation partner institution to an undergraduate Science degree at the University of Sydney.

2. Eligibility

a. The Scholarship is offered subject to the applicant having an unconditional offer of admission to study full-time in an undergraduate Science degree in the Faculty of Science at the University of Sydney.

b. Applicants must be transferring from an institution with an agreed international articulation pathway arrangement with the University of Sydney, and credit for previous study must not exceed 48 credit points.

c. Applicants must be international students at the time of application.

3. Selection Criteria

a. The Scholarship will be awarded on academic merit as assessed from the applicant’s application for admission.

b. The Scholarship will be awarded on the nomination of the Dean of the Faculty of Science, or their nominated delegate.

4. Value

a. The Scholarship is valued at $5,000 per annum for one year only.

b. The Scholarship annual value will be paid as a one-off payment after the census date of the relevant semester.

c. Deferral of the Scholarship is not permitted without the prior permission of the Dean of the Faculty of Science or their nominated delegate, and it is not transferable to another University school, faculty or university.

d. The Scholarship will be offered subject to the availability of funds.

e. No other amount is payable.

5. Termination

a. The Scholarship will be terminated if the recipient:
I. withdraws from an eligible course or fails to enrol,
II. becomes a domestic student before the semester census date,
III. does not maintain satisfactory academic performance,
IV. is determined by the University to be guilty of serious misconduct, including, but not limited to, having provided false or misleading information as part of their Scholarship application,
V. does not resume study at the end of a period of approved leave, or
VI. any other provision as indicated in these terms that would lead to termination.

b. Once the Scholarship has been terminated, it will not be reinstated unless due to University error.

c. Where a student is found guilty of serious misconduct or the Scholarship is terminated under any instance in the Termination Clause of these terms and conditions, the University reserves the right to request that any Scholarship funds paid to the Scholarship recipient be reimbursed.
