Welcome to the Molecular Ecology, Evolution, and Phylogenetics laboratory in the School of Biological Sciences, The University of Sydney. Led by Nate Lo and Simon Ho, the group is focused on the nexus between evolution, ecology, and genetics/molecular biology. We study evolution at a broad range of temporal scales in diverse taxa, and use a variety of computational and molecular techniques. We are located in a redeveloped laboratory on the top level of the Edgeworth David Building (A11). Click for information about joining MEEP and current Honours projects in the lab. Some media coverage of our research is shown here.
A recent R workshop was organised and led by MEEP PhD student Sebastian Duchene. It was attended by 28 researchers and students from the School of Biological Sciences.
A/Prof Simon Ho, Martyna Molak, Sebastian Duchene, and Frank Jia visited collaborators at the Australian Centre for Ancient DNA, University of Adelaide.
Members of the MEEP lab presented talks and posters at the Genetics Society of Australasia Conference, held at the University of New South Wales. Sebastian and Luana won prizes for their presentations.
