We are proud of our position as a leading research and teaching university, and the contribution to cultural, social and intellectual life we’ve made during the last 160 years.

In 2015, the University of Sydney supported the research of more than 3500 academic staff across one of the broadest ranges of disciplines in Australia. Also in 2015, the Excellence in Research initiative announced that the University of Sydney scored well above the world average, with a maximum score of five across a wide spectrum of academic disciplines. This is a 41 percent increase from the 2012 scores.

The Disability Action Plan (PDF, 877KB) outlines our commitment to disability inclusion and providing a barrier-free workplace for our staff with a disability.

Disability funding and workplace adjustments

We have established the Disability Support Fund, a centrally managed fund, to provide financial support for workplace adjustments. We offer support with the use of assistive technology at work, flexible working arrangements, workplace assessments and confidential advice on requesting and implementing workplace adjustments. We can also provide modifications to the built environment if required.
