2003.

Dr Eftekhar migrated to Australia with his family in 2006. He furthered his Australasian neurosurgical experience in Royal Hobart Hospital (Tasmania), Sir Charles Gardiner Hospital (Perth), Royal Perth Hospital, Dunedin Hospital (New Zealand) and subspecialty training in Cerebrovascular Neurosurgeryunder the mentorship of Professor Michael Morgan..
Dr Eftekhar is a fellow of the Royal Australasian College of Surgeons, member of the Neurosurgical Society of Australasia and member of the Congress of Neurological Surgery(US). He has published over 35 peer-reviewed papers.
He is experienced in tumour and spinal surgery, with a special interest in cerebrovascular pathologies including aneurysms, stroke and arteriovenous malformations.
Prof Behzad Eftekhar is head of department of Neurosurgery in Nepean hospital.

I am working on a prediction model to differentiate between aneurysms with high risk of rupture from those that have less risk of SAH, based on fluid dynamic studies. Local Australian graduates are welcome to join me in this project.
